Weavers Academy celebrates GCSE success

Weavers Academy wishes to congratulate students on some very pleasing GCSE results.

Results in English, mathematics and science were the school’s best ever with 74% of students achieving at least a grade four in English, 64% in mathematics and 66% in Science. Numbers of students achieving a strong pass or better has risen again with almost half of students securing a Grade 5 or better in English or mathematics. Outcomes in history, French, Spanish, art, drama and all three sciences were strong.

A special mention must be made of the outstanding performances of some students who gained some amazing GCSE qualifications.

Behind the examination statistics are some amazing individual successes. Greta Bojarovisiute was most happy as she achieved 5 grade 9s and 3 grade 8s.

Alihaydar Demir was all smiles with 3 grade 9s and 5 grade 8s and Arpana Kumari shed tears of joy as she achieved a grade 9, 3 grade 8s, 3 grade 7s and one grade 6!

Successes was enjoyed by Harvey Litchfield who achieved strong passes in all subjects including 3 grade 9s. Karolina Gonek achieved a grade 7 or better in 6 of her subjects and Oscar Clarke achieved nothing less than a grade 7 in his all of his examinations.

I would also like to thank the parents and carers of our Year 11 students who have played the most important role in this success, for the support they have given to their children and to the school throughout the 5 year journey. They will be rightly proud of the achievements of their sons and daughters.

A-Level Results 2019

Students and staff at Weavers Academy in Wellingborough are celebrating some outstanding individual A-Level and vocational successes today.

The proportion of students achieving the highest grades at A-Level has increased significantly this year.

Natasha Fyffe achieved A, A*, A, A, B; Esha Kumari A*, A, A, A* and both Ben Nicholson and Joseph Murphy secured A, B, B, B grades. A number of students achieved D* (distinction) in vocational qualifications including Cory Bollen and Beth Carty-Gable who both achieved D* D (distinction) in Media.

Many students have secured places at top Russell Group Universities to study a variety of courses including history, computer science, media production, neuroscience, accounting, and electronic engineering.

We are delighted that the students have performed so well and can now pursue their chosen courses and career paths to their futures. The results are testament to the hard work, dedication and belief shown by students and staff across the past two years of their studies.
