Our Level 3 Cambridge Technicals in Digital Media qualification is designed to help our students achieve their potential and progress to the next stage of their lives, whether that’s Higher Education; an Apprenticeship or employment.  This refreshing course is designed so that the content is up to date with the industry standards, engaging, fit for purpose and suitable and flexible enough to meet the needs of our students.  

We provide an extensive range of units such as Media products and audiences; Pre-production and planning; Social media and globalisation; Advertising and building your own Media portfolio.  It is assessed through two written exams (Unit 1 Media product and audiences and Unit 2 Preproduction and planning) and four units of coursework which are tailored to fit the needs and plans of the students and allows a choice of medium such as Film, TV, Radio and print 

Autumn TermSpring TermSummer Term
Year 12Unit 20 – Advertising – In completing this unit, students will understand advertising campaigns and how audio-visual, print based or audio advertising media are used within them. 
Unit 24 – Cross-media awareness  – The aim of this unit is for students to develop their understanding of how different media sectors operate and what products they produce. 
Unit 2 – Preproduction – By completing this unit, students will understand the preproduction process that the creative media industry follows when creating a product.   Preparing Units 20 and 24 for submission.

Year 13Unit 21 – Plan and pitch a media product – By completing this unit, students will be able to generate ideas for their own media product based on a client brief, pitch their ideas to a client, and be able to respond to feedback to prepare their idea for pre-production. Unit 1 – Media products – The aim of this unit is for students to develop their understanding of how different media institutions operate in order to create products that will appeal to specific target audiences. 
Unit 3 – Create a media product  – This aim of this unit is for students to develop knowledge and understanding of the production processes for producing one of the following media products:   
print-based   
audio-visual
