Weavers Academy: Securing aspirations
Students and staff at Weavers Academy are celebrating another successful year of post-16 examination results as they announce an overall pass rate of 95 percent at A-Level and one in five of exams taken achieving a grade B or higher.
Outcomes in vocational courses remained strong. Our students performed exceptionally well with 80 per cent achieving either a distinction*, distinction or merit in their chosen subjects.
The two top performing students studied nine A Levels in total achieving eight A/A* grades between them. They will go on to study natural sciences at Exeter and economics at Warwick universities. This is a tremendous achievement and many other students achieved exceptional individual results.
Almost 85 per cent of our students this year are going on to university with the remainder opting for apprenticeships or exciting job opportunities.
One student was bowled over as she realised her ambition to follow her lifelong interest and study Zoology. Another student said they were “thrilled to be going on to study a course in Children and Youth Education”. The excitement of others was evident as they talked of their futures at universities of their choice studying computing, economics, equine studies, mathematics and natural sciences amongst many other degree courses.
Principal, Viv Swaida said: “Weavers prides itself on supporting students’ learning to help them to reach their potential, achieve their aspirations and secure their future success. The hard work and dedication of all has resulted in another great set of results for students at Weavers Academy. We wish students every success in the future”.
