Curriculum Intent:
At Weavers Academy, our Media Studies Team aim to inspire our Post 16 students to become critical, creative, and culturally aware individuals who can navigate and influence the modern media landscape. We want every student to enjoy learning and feel confident in analysing and producing media texts. Our curriculum fosters curiosity, independence, and resilience, while promoting creativity and technical proficiency.
We follow the Creative Education Trust framework and uphold our school values: PRIDE – Productivity, Respect, Independence, Determination, and Engagement. This means we encourage students to work hard, respect themselves and others, take responsibility for their learning, persevere through challenges, and actively participate in lessons and enrichment activities.
We also prepare students for life beyond school by developing employability skills such as digital literacy, problem-solving, collaboration, and leadership. Our curriculum is inclusive and adaptive, ensuring all students can access and thrive.
