Welcome from the Principal

Welcome to Weavers Academy.

Weavers Academy is a vibrant and inclusive 11–18 co‑educational school at the heart of the Wellingborough community. As specialists in literature and the performing arts, we offer a rich, traditional curriculum strengthened by exceptional opportunities in the arts, technology and sport. Our teaching is shaped by the unique talents, needs and aspirations of every learner, ensuring that each young person is known, valued and challenged.

Our school culture is defined by our PRIDE values: Productivity, Respect, Independence, Determination and Engagement. These values guide how we learn, how we behave, and how we treat one another. They sit proudly alongside the Creative Education Trust principles of Ambition, Equity and Opportunity, which we embrace as core to our mission. Together, they reflect our belief that every child—without exception—deserves the very best education, the highest expectations, and the widest horizons.

Our whole‑school priorities reinforce this commitment. We are focused on embedding adaptive teaching, ensuring that every student can access learning and develop independence. We are dedicated to strengthening literacy, so that reading is never a barrier to success. And we place great importance on belonging, attendance and engagement, because students thrive when they feel safe, supported and connected to their school community.

Since joining the Creative Education Trust in 2013, Weavers Academy has benefited from the strength of a national network while retaining the autonomy to make decisions that best serve our students. Collaboration across CET schools enriches our curriculum, strengthens our practice, and ensures that every learner has access to high‑quality teaching, support and enrichment.

In our most recent Ofsted inspection (May 2022), Weavers Academy was rated Good in all areas. Inspectors recognised our purposeful curriculum, calm environment and caring staff, noting that pupils behave well and feel supported to achieve. This reflects the dedication of our exceptional team of over 150 staff, who work tirelessly to create a school where every student can succeed and feel proud of who they are becoming.

As one of the largest employers in the area, we are committed to being an Employer of Choice—championing wellbeing, professional growth, diversity, equality of opportunity and a culture of mutual respect.

We invite you to explore our website and discover more about our students, our values and our vision. At Weavers Academy, we believe in every child. We are proud to equip them with the skills, knowledge and confidence they need for success—both now and in their future lives.

Yours faithfully,

Emma Merry
